After the site visit, we move to a farmhouse in the Agrigento countryside for a typical lunch. Outdoor tables, set among secular olive trees and prickly pears, with a view of the valley. The menu offers caponata, *pasta con le sarde* (pasta with sardines), fresh ricotta, and cannoli. A gastronomic experience that completes the journey through time.
"Every time we travel with you, we discover something we didn't expect," smiles Valeria as she toasts with a glass of Nero d'Avola wine. Massimo agrees: "And not having to think about anything, just enjoying the beauty, really makes a difference."
Classical Sicily as you have never seen it before
In the afternoon, before returning, we take a walk in the Garden of Kolymbethra, a green oasis within the valley, among citrus groves, almond trees, and laurel trees, with a small path that brings ancient aqueducts back to light.
The day ends with the sunset coloring the temples gold, while our car awaits them for the return journey. The trip back to Taormina is quiet and contemplative, but full of emotion.
"This wasn't just a simple visit... it was an open-air history lesson," says Valeria, looking at the photos she just took.
