✈️ A new arrival at Catania airport. It's a warm September morning in Sicily. The sun is already high, reflecting on the Catania airport runway, greeting travelers with that typical golden glow that only this island can offer.
In the arrivals hall, amidst rolling trolleys and curious eyes, two figures smilingly approach our driver who is waiting for them with a sign: Giuseppe and Anna – Sicily Car Service.
— “There they are!” exclaims Anna, holding her husband's arm.
— “I can’t wait to see the sea!” he adds enthusiastically, as they get closer.
After a friendly greeting and the luggage is placed in the chauffeured car, the journey can begin.
— “Welcome to Sicily! I'm taking you to Taormina, but first tell me: is this your first time here?”
Giuseppe smiles:
— “In Sicily, yes, but it’s not our first trip to the south. Last year we were in Calabria, the hometown of our grandparents. It was love at first sight.”
Anna nods:
— “So this year we decided to explore the other side of the south and start with Sicily.”
🚗 Traveling to Taormina in style
The journey along the highway connecting Catania to Taormina is always a pleasure, especially aboard an air-conditioned, comfortable car with an expert driver. From the window, Giuseppe and Anna enjoy the scenery: Mount Etna, the lemon groves, the small villages clinging to the hills.
— “I didn’t expect so much green,” Anna observes.
— “And look at that mountain in the distance… that’s Etna, right?”
— “That’s him,” our driver replies. “He is the giant of Sicily. He will surprise you.”
Giuseppe, curious, asks:
— “You can climb it, can’t you? I’d love to visit some craters.”
— “Of course, and if you want, we can arrange a day on Etna with a guide and everything you need.”
Anna laughs:
— “But first, I want to explore Taormina. I've been dreaming for years of walking along Corso Umberto and seeing that famous Greek theater!”
🌴 First impression: Taormina, a Mediterranean dream
After about an hour of a relaxing journey, we arrive near Taormina's historic center. The car makes its way through the flowered streets, the staircases, the silent alleys leading to the town's beating heart.
— “It’s all so elegant and bright,” Giuseppe says while looking at the balconies full of bougainvillea.
— “And that scent in the air... is it jasmine?”
— “Yes,” our driver replies. “Taormina is a little corner of paradise. And it’s a wonderful place to be in any season.”
The car takes them to the entrance of their hotel, where a terrace with a sea view awaits them. Before they say goodbye, Anna turns to our driver:
— “Thank you so much. It’s not just the convenience; it’s the feeling of being welcomed that makes all the difference.”
— “Exactly,” Giuseppe adds. “Traveling without having to worry about traffic or parking… it's a different world!”
— “That’s the advantage of our car rental with a driver service. No stress, just beauty.”
The beginning of a new adventure
The luggage is taken to the room. Giuseppe and Anna look out from the balcony: the sea glistens, the sky is clear, and time seems to slow down.
— “We made it,” Anna whispers. “Finally in Sicily.”
— “And this is just the first stop,” Giuseppe replies. “Knowing us, we’ll be back next year too.”
Excursions will begin tomorrow, but today is the time to breathe in the air of Taormina, sit at a table in the square, savor a cannolo, and start writing a new chapter of their vacation in the most authentic south of Italy.
